WALKER STREET 2021

The writing and recording for my first album (Walker) was an amazing creative learning experience which gave me the confidence to take this album in my stride.

After creating my debut, I knew I had a 'knack' for writing 3-4 minute pop-rock tunes, so I sat down to write this album, 'Walker Street’. All I really knew was that I wanted to maintain the standards I'd set for the first album, yet was inspired to make greater use of multi-layered vocal harmonies, and percussion

instruments during the recording process.

The tracks ‘Found A Way To My Heart’, ‘This All Started Tonight’, ‘Put Your Hand In Mine’, ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ and ‘All Dressed Up In White’ are expressed in the writing style I worked with for most of the songs on my first album. It’s the rhythmic, driving, 'country rock' sound with I love.  The vibe of these tracks is a common denominator within several of my recordings.

The hard-rocking ‘Still Living It All Night Long’ was written via an acoustic guitar, yet I always knew the distortion knob was going to be turned to the right when we commenced the recording.

‘Can You Feel The Sun?’ started out as a few grunts i sang into my iphone recorder and took to the recording studio. We had to work out the music notes on a keyboard using these grunts as I had no clue what the notes were. This song will surely make it on to my greatest hits album if I ever have one!

‘I Think A Not’ is a departure from my classic sound and exudes a sort of Jazz, rockabilly, skiffle & country music all rolled into one.

The Ballads ‘Shooting Star’, ‘Feel You Getting Closer’ & 'My Old Friend’ give the album a change of pace and style to allow for a great overall flow to the album.

‘Feel you Getting Closer’ was written on my guitar, however it quickly became apparent that piano would be the main instrument to use via its recording.

I had not intended to record any cover tracks for this album, however my co-producer was so impressed by my acoustic version of R.E.M’s ‘Losing My Religion’ that I decided to include it as the final track.

I'm extremely proud of the Walker Street album. Turn it Up!

WALKER 2020

This album transpired after I'd committed myself to write music 4 or 5 nights per week for an entire year. I had made a 4-song demo recording in 1999 & a slightly more professionally constructed album in 2008. I then decided it was time to concentrate on writing some listenable tunes that would appeal to a large cross-section of the people.

Some of these songs were written in a couple of days. Some of them took more than a year to complete as I often had to set them aside until my creativity began to flow more readily.

It wasn't until we commenced the recording of the album that it became clear that there were some really great tracks in production that were receiving great feedback. I began to feel I may have adopted a genuine talent for penning good quality 3-to-4 minute songs.

I hope you enjoy listening to this music as much as I enjoyed creating it. I’m extremely proud of the result. Enjoy!
